Internship and Career Fair
I walked into the career fair thinking that i wasn't going to find anyone in there i would be interested in working for. I saw the BLM booth and figured i would just have a quick chat and get it over with. But, she was busy so i decided to walk around. Lucky me! There was Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort and they have a sign saying they offer internships in event planning. Jackpot! So, i spoke with Michael Kane and ended up filling out an application and found myself wanting to work there. Michael seemed pretty cool; it helped that he is in charge of event planning at the facility so i was able to talk with him directly about that and find out more about what i would be doing if selected as an intern. Cross your fingers!

Part 2
The book is still not in at the bookstore and the library doesn't have a copy...
So...
This is my effort to do the homework, but unable to do it.

Stewards of Access Part 1
I really liked on page 17 where it says, " We live in a democracy where the process of change is as important as change itself. Moreover, human beings certainly are not as selfish as Hardin would have us believe. People are capable of responding to educational, informational, and interpretive programs." Over the decades our knowledge and behaviors have changed, and to this day we are changing our ideas and ways of living. The process of change is important to recognize in a community and it's important to support those changes that are for the good. We as a people are capable of listening and learning. It's a matter of spreading the word and having the facts to back it up. We can't simply tell someone that they need to stop littering in our parks; we have to tell them to stop and why they need to stop and hope that they stop their bad behaviors and pass the word along.
The next part i found interesting was on page 20; " however diminished the quality of recreation opportunities and environments may become, a majority of recreationists will be oblivious to it." I'm not sure if i agree because every professor i've had since entering the recreation major talks about how so many recreational spots are changing and eroding. On the other hand, i agree because, sure a recreation spot may become diminished but most recreational people will find other ways to entertain and find adventure for themselves.
I think when I'm a program planner for a city these thoughts will be important because i can see who will truly enjoy being outside and being involved with different activities, but i also need to gear programs to those who aren't as interested in recreation while still trying to involve them with the joy of being outside. I also will have the opportunity to educate others and influence their behaviors concerning our natural earth. I can help others change their behaviors so that as a community we can slowly start to change for the better.

3 questions about grad school
1. Why would I need to go? Most job positions say they require a bachelor's degree, so why go further? What are the benefits?
2. What will grad school get me?
3. How much does it cost and how would I finance it?
